Stargazing from the Roof with the Flamsteed Astronomy Society returns on Wednesday 18th November. Join us for a journey of discovery, in small groups of just four people. After checking in on the ground floor, your timed experience will take you up through the castle where Flamsteed Astronomy Society members will introduce you to astronomy, demonstrate a range of telescopes and explain what to expect during your stargazing experience. You’ll then head to our rooftop viewing platform, where you can explore the night sky through telescopes and smart scopes, with red lights provided to protect your night vision. Each session lasts approximately 40 minutes.

Timed tickets are £16.50 including booking fee and a hot drink after your star gazing experience. Tickets are valid only for the time booked.

This event is for ages 12+

The Weather Small Print: This event is weather dependent. If weather conditions mean that we are unable to open the viewing platform, the event will not be able to go ahead on the scheduled date. If the event is postponed, we will do what we can to rearrange it for the earliest possible date, subject to astronomer availability. Severndroog Castle will notify ticket holders as soon as it becomes clear that postponement is necessary.

Please dress warmly, as you will spend some time outside on the viewing platform.

Free parking facilities available at the nearby Castle Wood Car Park; it will remain open for the duration of this event. Bring a torch to walk between the carpark and the Castle, as pathways are unlit. Use SE18 3RU or What3Words drop.kicked.less to locate the car park from Shooters Hill A207

This is partially an outdoor event and will go ahead in most weather conditions, so please dress warmly.

Dogs are not permitted at ticketed events at Severndroog Castle, assistance dogs excepted. Please get in touch if you are bringing an assistance dog to the performance, so we can support your visit.
