Easter Egg Hunt & Family Craft Workshop
Looking for a free Easter holidays activity with kids 11 and under? We have teamed up with Local Estate & Property Management Agents, Jennings & Barrett to celebrate the arrival of Spring and the event of Easter.
This free to join Easter Craft Activities and Easter Egg Hunt will take place between 12pm – 2pm outside in the courtyard on Thursday, 9th April 2026 at Severndroog Castle, Shooters Hill.
Aimed for young families, this 18th Century castle provides a unique setting as you join the quest for chocolate eggs – and some other surprises!
Our Tea Room will be open throughout, and there is a loo with baby changing on the ground floor, accessible via four steps with a handrail on either side.
Is the event really free?
Yes! We just ask that you register in advance, so that we can plan enough eggs for everyone.
Do I need to register?
Yes – registration with Jennings & Barrett helps to manage numbers and keep the hunt fair. It also lets them send you relevant updates, such as the location of the eggs.
In case we get a lot of interest in the event, we may opt to split the event into timeslots to enable re-hiding of eggs and ensure that there is enough for everyone.
What age group is the event for?
The hunt is designed for children 11 and under and their families. Older ages are welcome to attend, but we ask that all attendees be mindful that this event is designed for younger ones, who may not be as fast to find their share of eggs.
We ask that children are not left unattended.
What should we bring?
We suggest comfortable outdoor shoes, and weather-appropriate clothing – and something to drink (though the Severndroog Tea Room is open onsite for the purchase of drinks, snacks and ice creams).
What kind of eggs will be hidden?
We will be hiding mostly chocolate eggs, though a few surprise eggs will be available.
Can adults join the hunt?
Adults are welcome to help the children they’re accompanying to find the eggs, but this event is designed for children to enjoy.
What if the weather is bad?
We’ll go ahead in light rain. If severe weather is expected, we’ll email all registered participants with updates or alternative plans.
Is the event accessible?
The event will take place outside in the courtyard, within a confined and paved area of the Castle. There is an accessible loo with baby changing on the ground floor of the Castle, accessed via four steps with a handrail on either side.
If you have specific needs or ideas that could help make this event more accessible to your family, please send them to operations@jenningsandbarrett.co.uk.
Can we bring pets?
Well‑behaved pets are welcome, as long as they remain on leads and are kept away from the egg‑hunting zones for safety.
Who is organising the event?
This event is funded by Jennings & Barrett and held in association with Severndroog Castle.
