Climbing to Severndroog Castle’s viewing platform is a must-do for visitors seeking a unique perspective of London and beyond. Standing 132 metres above sea level, the platform provides breathtaking, 360-degree views, including glimpses of iconic landmarks such as the London Eye, Canary Wharf, Wembley Stadium, and even Windsor Castle on a clear day.
To reach the top, visitors ascend the castle’s original spiral staircase — a journey in itself that transports you through history. At the summit, you’ll find a serene space ideal for photography, quiet reflection, or simply marvelling at the capital’s skyline.
The experience is open to general visitors on Sundays and available during the week for private bookings and group tours. Whether you’re a local rediscovering your city or a tourist seeking something special, the Viewing Platform offers a moment of escape and perspective.
Public Access: Sundays during general opening hours (10:00am–4:00pm)
Group Bookings: Available Thursday and Friday upon request. Click Here to make a booking request
Weather Dependent: Platform may close during adverse conditions for safety
Access to the Viewing Platform involves climbing 86 steps up a narrow, original spiral staircase. Unfortunately, this means it is not suitable for wheelchair users, and may be challenging for those with limited mobility or vertigo. Sensible footwear is recommended, and children must be accompanied by an adult.
