Mark Newlove upstairs in the Lady James Room
Singer-songwriter Mark Newlove brings his eclectic set of originals to Severndroog Castle for an intimate performance on the evening of Friday 6th March, the second in our late winter season Upstairs in the Lady James Room. His songs range from quirky and whimsical to dark and surreal with an emphasis on words, melody and entertainment. Playing upstairs in the Lady Jane room, he will deliver stripped down versions of beloved favourites from his large and varied repertoire in a myriad of styles rooted in melodic British pop.
Mark is tailoring his show to the wonderful acoustics at Severndroog allowing audience to really hear the words and musical nuances. It promises to be a fun and entertaining evening in an historic and unique setting.
Mark Newlove has performed to audiences around the world on radio, in cafes, pubs, clubs, festivals, bookshops, and even funerals. He’s known for his quirky and entertaining show covering a myriad of styles and subjects and is highly regarded as a respected songwriter.
There are two ticket options available:
- Seating £14 including Booking Fee
- Floor space (bring a cushion) £9.50 including Booking Fee
Mark has designed this as an intimate show to reflect the unique nature of the Lady James Room and so floor spaces will be the best seats in the house, but select Seating if you prefer to sit in a chair. All tickets are general access, with floor spaces closest to the performance area.
This performance is upstairs in the Lady James Room at Severndroog Castle, accessed via a spiral staircase. Doors and bar from 6.45pm, music starts at 7.30pm

For evening events, we recommend you bring a torch for your walk through the woods to and from the Castle, as pathways are unlit.

While dogs are very welcome during the day in the Tea Room, we do not allow dogs upstairs in the Castle or at ticketed events, assistance dogs excepted. If you are bringing an assistance dog to the event, we encourage you to contact us in advance at events@severndroogcastle.org.uk to discuss how we can support your visit.
