SUMMARY:Launch of the Severndroog History Project
DESCRIPTION:You are warmly invited to the launch of a new project which is 
 a collaboration between the Severndroog Castle Trust and the University of 
 Hertfordshire aiming to reinterpret the Castle’s history\, catalogue exis
 ting materials\, and explore its meaning as a 21st-century community herita
 ge site.\nWe are delighted to welcome Professor Peter D’Sena Professor of
  History and Education at the University of Hertfordshire to launch the pro
 ject with an introductory talk: Renewing the View: Severndroog Past\, Prese
 nt and Future\nFree entry no need to book\, just turn up\nThursday 9 July a
 t 11am in the Courtyard \nAs the project develops\, activities will includ
 e:\n· Informal talks and guided discussions\n· Community story-gathering\
 n· Opportunities to work with historic materials\, photographs and archive
 s\n· Collaborative development of new interpretation for the site\nWe are 
 particularly interested in uncovering stories that are not yet widely recor
 ded - helping to bring together personal\, local and global perspectives an
 d will soon be lunching an Oral history collection activity\nThe Project is
  intended to be community-led\, with academic support for workshops and res
 earch skills.\nGet involved\n· Share memories\, stories or family connecti
 ons linked to the Castle or the local area\n· Explore historical themes\, 
 including the Castle’s links to global trade and empire\n· Contribute id
 eas for how the Castle’s story is told in the future\n· Get involved in 
 research\, archives and interpretation\nNo experience is needed - just curi
 osity and an interest in history.
